Seth Davis' NCAA Tournament Bracket Breakdown

As I write this just past 8 p.m. on Sunday night, I am still riding the adrenaline from the Selection Show. This was my 20th Selection Show on CBS (it would have been 21 if the 2020 tournament hadn’t been canceled), and it never gets old. Neither does watching the Greatest Show in Sports. So let’s get to my analysis of the bracket.
I know many of you will spend the next three days thinking, marinating, praying and studying in order to make your picks. I made mine in less than five minutes. I have no choice because I need to get ready for the show, but it doesn’t matter because I’m a firm believer that there is no amount of thought or preparation that can give you an advantage. Doesn’t the person who follows college basketball the least always end up winning the bracket pool? That’s the beauty – and the beast – of March Madness.
You can see above all of my bracket picks. (And unlike most of you, I only fill out one, which means I’m more likely to lose yet feel morally superior.) Looking back, I honestly wish I had taken more chances, but if you really are trying to win a pool, you’re better off playing it safe and going chalk in the later rounds.
