When college basketball’s free agency season started in March, Kansas was an early winner. The decision of All-America center Hunter Dickinson to return for a fifth year was a major boost to a roster that was returning two other starters. The Jayhawks also added six transfers, a haul rated universally among the nation’s best. When experts published their early preseason top 25’s, the Jayhawks were near the top – and more often than not, at the very top.
