"He'll start whining and pouting": Anonymous coaches dish on teams from the Big East and Big 12
Part two of Enemy Lines has more unvarnished candor. Can you handle the truth?
Good morning, Hoopheads. Time for the second installment of Enemy Lines, reporting this time from deep inside the Big 12 and Big East. Can you handle the truth?
For those unfamiliar with this exercise, allow me to explain. Last week, I spoke with three coaches (head coaches and assistants) from these two leagues, granted them anonymity, and asked them to give me their candid assessments of the top teams in the leagues. All of these teams are good – that’s why they are on this list – so I prodded my coaches to point out their deficiencies, the kind that would cause the teams to lose earlier than expected in the NCAA tournament. If their opinions sound harsh, that’s on me, not them.
Last week, I reported from behind enemy lines on the ACC, Big Ten and Mountain West. In the coming days, I will publish part three covering the remaining major conferences as well as some notable mid-majors. Happy reading.
